John doesn’t beat around the bush as he begins the body of his epistle (letter). With five deductive arguments, John makes it clear that one’s actions cannot be divorced from one’s spiritual direction. This is a problem that still plagues the church. We ought to heed God’s Word because perhaps, we are not who we think we are.
