History
In May of 2005, Woodridge Baptist Church announced that it would begin a new campus south of Kingwood, TX. Woodridge Baptist Church Fall Creek opened its doors for the first time on January 8, 2006. After months of preparation, Paul Lyle resigned as Youth minister of Woodridge Baptist and began serving as Pastor. Forty other adults and children from Woodridge joined him in this endeavor. As there were no commercial buildings available in the area, the church took up residence in a Kids R Kids daycare and began holding services. The congregation grew steadily. After a year and a half, the facility was forced to close, leaving the church with no place to meet.
Overnight, God provided.
The church found a new meeting place at a second Kids R Kids daycare, just 5 miles north of where God would later provide property to one day build on. This new site was purchased by Woodridge Baptist Church in faith that the people in the Summerwood area would be reached with the Gospel. Because of the change in location, and a new area of outreach, Woodridge Baptist Fall Creek changed its name to Summer Creek Baptist Church.
Summer Creek Baptist is a work in progress. The members who are presently serving in our church know that this is not for us. This church is being built for people that God is going to lead to this state, this city, this community. Perhaps that is your story. Perhaps, without knowing, God has set this time for you to come and be a part of what is happening here. Perhaps this is the time for you to come be a part of the history of this place.
