Delight in the Lord
Psalm 37:1-6 – Hugh Poland
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

King David encourages the people of God to “take delight” in the Lord. Their tendency was to take delight in anything BUT the Lord at times. How does the gathering together of God’s people on The Lord’s Day so critically shape us as individuals and as a church, and preserve us from idolatry?

Ignoring an Invite
Matthew 22:1-14 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

We are all guilty of it. We get an email, a text, a phone call and even a voice mail, but we are so busy we ignore it. I’ve been there when someone asked, “Did you get my message?” The leaders in Jesus’ day ignored the message, the invitation, and we are in danger of doing the same thing.

The Temple and the Tree
Matthew 21:12-22 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

Scripture is a testimony to God’s patience with his people. It is seen in the Old and New Testament, but is God’s patience unending? When Jesus enters the Temple and then later sees a fruitless fig tree, it appears that God has had enough. What does that mean for you and me?

Sunday: Welcoming & Weeping
Luke 19:28-44 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

Today, we begin a new series looking into the last week of Jesus’ life prior to the cross. It is not unusual for us to hear a story and realize that we have only heard one side. Many in the church know about, “Palm Sunday,” but much more happened than praise and adoration. Jesus finally makes his way into the city that will claim his life. What all happened that day?

Friday: Sadness and Joy
John 11:1-44 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

Today, we begin a new series looking into the last week of Jesus’ life prior to the cross. My hope is for us to better understand the events just days before his crucifixion, and his resurrection. Just one week prior to Jesus’ death on the cross, he is confronted with the death of a friend. Within this one event, we see the frustration of human suffering and Jesus’s compassion. We also see Jesus demonstrate his power over death and separation. He is Lord over all.

Let Go. Move Forward. Pt 4
Joshua 1:1-9 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

Moving forward, in many ways, is not a choice. The next day, next week, next month, and next year will come. But the method of how you move forward does matter. You must choose, as Joshua did at the end of the book, “Whom you will serve.” It’s time to choose and move forward.
