Are you tired of doubting? We are bombarded daily by biased opinions, slanted information, and even misinformation. We struggle with the validity of what we both see and hear. John wants to make it clear from the beginning of his epistle that you can be sure about Jesus Christ and the truthfulness of this letter.

The clock is ticking the moment we receive an invitation to an event, and our response is gauged by our interest in attending the event. If mediocre, the invitation will cause us to check our schedules. But if the event is of great interest, it will cause us to arrange our calendars around it. We are to invite people, but their response is up to them.

The idea of doing nothing feels guilty in our culture. When it comes to evangelism, and especially when it comes to ministry, “nothing” can’t be an option. But what if we are wrong? Nehemiah knew in such a time as this, when Jerusalem was in shambles, it was the perfect time to do nothing.
