Thankful For Who He Is
1 Chronicles 16:8-36 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

When we thank the Lord, where does our mind go first?  Does it immediately turn to the things we’ve been given, or to who the Lord is?  In this song from David, we are reminded that our gratitude should first focus on the Lord, and not on the physical things around us.

Foes in Friends & Family
Matthew 10:34:39 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

Jesus tells his disciples, if I have experienced pain and suffering, you will as well. He makes it clear, it is the enemy within your circle that is going to do you harm, which is not what we expect.

What’s It Worth?
Matthew 16:24-28 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

We are busy people, and our time and money are precious to us. Due to that fact, we are always evaluating if something is worth our time and/or money. So, what’s it worth? What is your soul, your eternal destination, worth to you? Know this–that question does not come from your pastor; it comes from Christ.

Carrying and Denying, Part 2
Matthew 16:24-28 – Dr. Paul Lyle
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

Being a disciple of Christ is not for the faint of heart. There is reward and glory to be achieved, but not in this life. Eternal life must be the constant focus of a disciple. The cross will get heavy and the desire to indulge, rather than deny, the flesh will be strong. As one author wrote, we must lose in order to win.

The Ascension
Acts 1:7-11 – Hugh Poland
Worship Leader – Mark Hudson

For three years, they followed him and now the disciples have just watched Jesus ascend into heaven. Even though Jesus had disappeared, as they prepare to be witnesses for His glory, they would not be alone. We have been given the same Spirit and we too must go and witness.
