We are told in Romans 4, that God, “calls into existence things that do not exist.” God’s election is about bringing forth life where there was no life before. This applies to both Israel and to the Gentiles. What is our response to that truth?

God is God

When God molds, prepares, and calls, God has the position, the power, and the right to do as he sees fit. Let us remember who we are. Simply those who are molded, vessels, and for some, the elect. We should always remember who God is and who we are.

We live in a world that has been described as, “dog eat dog.” Everyone is about getting what they can for themselves, and who cares about how it affects others, but the Apostle Paul speaks about another way of unity and having the mind of Christ. Does that describe you today?

Glory to God

There are two possibilities when God causes his will and purpose to stand. He will either have mercy or he will harden. All that is happening, has happened, and will happen, is ultimately for His glory.

God’s Hand of Providence

We like the idea of God electing/choosing regarding salvation. We sing of the grace and mercy he bestows upon his people, but do we praise him when evil comes against us? God does show mercy, but Paul is adamant about telling the church in Rome that God also hardens whomever he wills.
