Discovering Our Roots

It’s important to know where we come from. If we don’t, we will forget our roots. We will forget who or what got us here. Today, the Apostle Paul reminds us: ‘Watchout! It is very easy to become arrogant regarding God’s blessing of salvation upon your life.’ Let’s remember who we are.

Do you think our religion Christianity, like Judaism, has peaked? Could it be just a matter of time before our society is labeled post-Christian, and another religion will start to prevail? Paul reminds us that God is not done, and we have yet to see the fullness of the Gospel riches.

2000 years ago, to be a follower of Jesus in the first century was to be a member of “The Way.” Today we live in a time when “being spiritual” is hot, but being a member of a church is not. More and more, people say they love Jesus, but they just can’t stand the church. So, what is life on “The Way” really supposed to look like?

Why do some believe and others reject the love and grace offered by the Lord? It is God that reserves those who are kept and it is God that gives a spirit of blindness to those who seek all else. How much more should we rejoice that God has called us?
